Leigh R. Keno graduated from Hamilton College with a bachelor’s degree in the history of art in 1979 and has been active in the field of American antiques since childhood.
Mr. Keno opened his own gallery in 1986, after working as Director of the American Furniture department at William Doyle Galleries and as Vice President of the Appraisal department and as a specialist in the American Furniture department at Christie’s.
Mr. Keno lectures extensively throughout the country and has co-authored two groundbreaking articles on Boston’s Georgian chairs for the 1996 and 1998 editions of the Chipstone Journal. He just finished writing a book with his brother, Leslie, and Joan Barzilay Freund called Hidden Treasures: Searching for Masterpieces of American Furniture. It was published by Warner Books in the fall of 2000.
Mr. Keno, along with his twin brother Leslie, co-hosts a show called Find!, which premiered October 2003 on PBS, distributed by WGBH. The series celebrates a world of design, style, antiques and furnishings.
